Board changes at Competition Commission of Singapore and A*Star from Aug 1

THE Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) has appointed three new members to the board of the Competition Commission of Singapore.
They are: Euston Quah, head of the Department of Economics, Nanyang Technological University; Wong Poh Kam, NUS School of Business; and Kan Yut Keong, retired accountant, PricewaterhouseCoopers.
MTI also appointed Quek Gim Pew, chief defence scientist, Ministry of Defence (Mindef), to the board of A*Star (Agency for Science, Technology and Research). Quek Tong Boon, former chief defence scientist at Mindef, will step down from the A*Star board upon the completion of his term on July 31, 2016.
The appointments will take effect from Aug 1, 2016.
