Britain announces £9.7b of green investment at global summit

BRITISH Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced at a summit in London on Tuesday (Oct 19) that foreign investors have pledged £9.7 billion (S$18 billion) worth of new investments in the UK.
"We need urgent government action, but we must mobilise the markets, we must bring in the private sector," he said in an opening address at the Global Investment Summit on overcoming the challenges posed by climate change.
