Britons spend as UK relaxes lockdown; banks raise growth forecasts

A RELIEVED Britain burst back to action in the past week after the government began to accelerate lockdown relaxations, sending thousands of people out into the streets and the spring weather.
It was party time in sunny weather as both the young and old rushed to the pubs and spent millions of pounds at shops, restaurants and hairdressers. Crowds milled around Oxford Street in London and scores of other high streets around the country.
