THE Consumers Association of Singapore (Case) has appointed Lee Siow Hwee as its new executive director with effect from April 1.
Ms Lee will succeed Loy York Jiun, who has returned to the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC), said Case in its press statement on Monday. Mr Loy was seconded from the NTUC to Case as deputy executive director on April 1, 2016, and subsequently appointed executive director on Jan 1, 2017.
Before joining Case, Ms Lee served in the People's Association for 18 years, holding several appointments, including deputy general manager of Central Singapore Community Development Council (CDC), and constituency director of Moulmein-Cairnhill and Jurong Central constituency offices.
She also led several national assistance schemes such as the CDC Student Meals Scheme and the CDC Vouchers Scheme last year.
