Changi Airport passenger terminals, Jewel to close for two weeks
JEWEL Changi Airport and all Changi Airport Passenger Terminal Buildings will be closed for two weeks starting from Thursday, as mandatory Covid-19 tests are ongoing.
Changi Airport will remain open for air travel. Access to the Passenger Terminal Buildings will be restricted to only passengers with air tickets and essential airport workers, and some essential services and food and beverage outlets will remain open to serve them.
Following the detection of Covid-19 cases at Changi Airport, all workers in Terminals 1 and 3, and Jewel, have been undergoing mandatory tests since May 9.
In a joint statement, the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) and Changi Airport Group (CAG) said all airport workers and staff working in Jewel should not be redeployed to other workplaces or outlets during this period.
They also urged staff to refrain from going out except for essential work or activities for the next 14 days or until they have been tested negative for the virus.
CAAS and CAG will review and adjust the measures as the Covid-19 situation evolves, including extending the temporary closure if needed. The closed premises will re-open on May 27.
