TRADE and investment deals worth £40 billion (S$86 billion) sealed between China and Britain have helped lift the sterling against the US dollar and other currencies.
The focus is on bilateral investment, infrastructure and innovation. The well-advertised Hinkley Point C nuclear plant in south-west England was confirmed as French energy firm EDF and China General Nuclear Power Corporation (CGN) signed an investment agreement to build the new plant in Somerset.
