China to issue 2 billion euros of sovereign bonds in Paris
China’s finance ministry said on Monday (Sep 9) it would issue up to two billion euros (S$2.9 billion) of sovereign bonds in Paris on Sep 23.
The specific issuance arrangements will be announced separately, the ministry said in a statement, without giving further details.
In late 2021, China issued four billion euros in sovereign bonds in Hong Kong.
Beijing has been issuing sovereign bonds offshore regularly in a bid to integrate China more closely into the global financial system, and build a price benchmark for overseas issuance of Chinese corporate bonds. REUTERS
