China says H1 foreign direct investment up 8.0% year-on-year: ministry

[BEIJING] China's foreign direct investment inflows rose 8.0 per cent in the first six months from a year earlier, an official from the Ministry of Commerce told a briefing on Friday.

Investment into China's fast-growing services sector jumped 23.0 per cent in the first half of 2015 from a year earlier, China's Vice Commerce Minister Wang Shouwen said.

Mr Wang's remarks were recorded in a transcript posted on the central government's website.

The ministry didn't announce the exact investment value or the monthly figures for June.
