China's August industrial profits fall 8.8% year on year

[BEIJING] Profits earned by Chinese industrial companies declined 8.8 per cent in August from a year ago, official data showed on Monday.
Profits were down 1.9 per cent in the first eight months of the year compared to the year-ago period, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics.
