China's growth quality to improve but risks remain: IIF
It says the economy should expand by 6.8% in 2017, cautions there will be policy headwinds in H2 this year
Tokyo
CHINA'S economy continues to confound predictions of a sharp slowdown in growth and an "asset bubble". Instead, the world's second- largest economy should enjoy its first annual growth acceleration in seven years in 2017 while the quality of growth will improve, a report suggests.
The Washington-based Institute of International Finance (IIF), which counts some 500 leading financial institutions including central banks among its members, says that the Chinese economy should expand by 6.8 per cent in 2017 as a whole against an out-turn of 6.7 per cent last year.
