CHINA'S manufacturing sector further expanded in August on the back of a pick-up of both the export sector and domestic demand as the world's second largest economy continues to rebound.

China's official manufacturing Purchasing Manager's Index (PMI) for the month of August came in at 51.0 compared to 51.1 in July, according to the National Bureau of Statistics. The slight drop was due to severe floods that wreaked havoc in the south and north-east of the country, which put on hold infrastructure projects and disrupted supply chains.
