China's March industrial output up 5.6% on-year: govt

[BEIJING] China's industrial output, which measures production at factories, workshops and mines, rose 5.6 per cent year-on-year in March, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said Wednesday.
Retail sales, a key indicator of consumer spending in the world's second-largest economy, gained 10.2 per cent in March from the year before, the NBS said.
Fixed asset investment, a measure of government spending on infrastructure, grew 13.5 per cent in January-March on-year, the NBS added.
