Climate change will pare in S-E Asian GDP by up to 11%: ADB


ECONOMIC losses from the impact of climate change in South-east Asia could reduce the region's gross domestic product (GDP) by up to 11 per cent by the year 2100, according to a new Asian Development Bank (ADB) study released on Monday.

Launched in Paris where the COP21 conference on climate change is underway, the report said that the estimated cost of climate change on South-east Asian GDP has risen by 60 per cent from an earlier estimate in 2009, when it was put at 7 per cent of GDP.
