THE Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (Iras) said on Thursday (Nov 3) that companies and tax agents who file their corporate income tax returns from software will receive an automatic 15-day extension of their filing due date for the 2023 to 2025 years of assessment.
This means instead of Nov 30, 2023, companies which file their returns via software can do so by Dec 15, 2023. Any penalties for errors made in the return due to unfamiliarity with software use will also be waived, Iras said.
The two new benefits will support companies and tax agents transiting and familiarising themselves with filing the corporate income tax returns Form C-S from software.
Iras noted that other similar benefits will also be made available when filing Goods & Service Tax returns, Auto-Inclusion Scheme submissions, and Tax Clearance for Foreign & Singapore Permanent Resident Employees (IR21) due from Jan 1, 2023 to Dec 31, 2025.
