Confidence in 'one country, two systems' has dipped, says poll
Proportion of respondents who expressed confidence in it was 77% in 2007; it is now 49.1%

FOR 20 years now, Hong Kong has functioned under China's 'one country, two systems' rule, a set-up that the authorities on both sides say has contributed greatly to the city's success.
But critics say the delicate balancing act has increasingly come under strain in recent years as localism rears its head and Beijing becomes more blatant in its interference in Hong Kong affairs.
