SENIOR Minister of State for Law Indranee Rajah said on Monday that the allegation of a conflict of interest on the part of persons in judicial or government appointments is a "red herring" that obscures the real cause of the dispute over the late Lee Kuan Yew's former home.
"It goes too far to suggest that the AGC (Attorney-General's Chambers) officers must not have previously had any links with any ministers or any political party," she said, in her speech in Parliament on possible conflicts of interest by public officials amid the ongoing dispute in Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong's family.
