Domestic consumption perks up in June, but how long will it last?

    A STRONG boost from domestic consumption in June helped shake off fears of a slowdown in Singapore's private-sector economy, but economists are wondering how sustainable this upswing will be.

    June's Nikkei purchasing manager's index (PMI) for Singapore's private sector, released on Tuesday, was at 52.3, a leap from May's 50.1.
