DEPUTY Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong will be in Bali from Jul 14 to Jul 16 to attend events under the 2022 G20 Summit, according to a Wednesday (Jul 13) press statement.
At the Third Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting, DPM Wong will discuss the state of the global economy, pandemic preparedness, prevention and response, and the development of sustainable finance and sustainable infrastructure with other G20 finance ministers and central bank governors.
He will also take part in the Asia Initiative Ministerial Meeting, organised by the Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes and sign the Bali Declaration on Jul 14.
The declaration reinforces Singapore's commitment to encourage the adoption and implementation of internationally agreed standards for tax transparency, which will help combat tax evasion and support effective domestic administration of taxes, the statement said.
DPM Wong is also expected to sign a new memorandum of understanding (MOU) on cooperation between Singapore and the Asian Development Bank, updating one previously signed in 2012.
The MOU focuses on raising private capital for infrastructure financing and finding new and innovative approaches to address challenges like climate change and energy transitions in Asia.
Accompanying DPM Wong on the trip will be officials from the Ministry of Finance and the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
