EU begins Brexit negotiations with a British government in crisis
London
A WELL prepared and experienced European Union (EU) team begins Brexit negotiations today with a British government that is in crisis.
David Davis, Brexit Secretary, is now the key Conservative politician to proceed with the United Kingdom's strategy and desired terms. In practice, however, he will have to make compromises with the team of chief EU negotiator Michel Barnier. Prime minister Theresa May is now expected to be only a figurehead at an EU leader summit next week, as she has become a leader without adequate backing.
