THE European Union's push to deter manipulation of financial benchmarks will get a jump-start later this month when the bloc's parliament puts forward fresh proposals to overcome remaining obstacles in talks on the bill with member states.
Cora van Nieuwenhuizen, the assembly's lead negotiator, said she'll put new initiatives on the table during the next round of negotiations on Sept 22. The definition of critical benchmarks remains a key point of divergence as lawmakers race for an agreement on the legislation by the end of the year.
