EUROPEAN stock markets and the euro rallied in relief as Dutch voters ensured that Geert Wilders' PVV (Party For Freedom) would not take power in the Netherlands.

Since their low point a few weeks ago, the euro is up by 3 per cent against the US dollar and the Dutch stock market by 4 per cent, raising its 12-month gains to 17 per cent.
