EU's chips drive 'poses no threat to Asia's semiconductor ops'

THE European Union has become the latest major economy to incentivise domestic investment in semiconductors, in a slew of policy measures unveiled last week.

But industry observers told The Business Times that the move - which is similar to efforts by the US and China - is not expected to see companies pull out of the tightly interconnected Asian electronics manufacturing ecosystem.
