AMERICAN chipmaker Micron Technology, which makes most of its 3D NAND flash memory output in Singapore, can now launch products here twice as fast - while improving staff productivity by 10 per cent.
That's with the help of smart factory tools such as fully automated wafer testing, done by robots; computer screening of images to detect defects; and joint data analysis, in tandem with original equipment manufacturers, to optimise processes.
