Feb non-oil domestic exports up 2.1% but 'it's purely arithmetic' (Amended)

Rise attributed to low-base effect; shipments to developed markets up, but Asian markets still weak

    NON-OIL domestic exports (NODX) surprised on the upside with a 2.1 per cent rise in February from a year ago, but there's a wide belief that the increase is a "one-month wonder".

    Though last month's NODX gain beat market expectations, private-sector economists, who were looking at a 0.8 per cent dip, said that it was due to a low-base effect.
