Former civil service head to receive Distinguished Service Order award

THE former head of the civil service in Singapore, Peter Ho, is to be awarded one of the nation's highest honours, the Darjah Utama Bakti Cemerlang (Distinguished Service Order) for distinguished conduct in service to the country.
In a career spanning 34 years in the Singapore Administrative Service, Mr Ho ran the civil service from 2005 to 2010, which he held concurrently with other appointments, including Permanent Secretary (Foreign Affairs), Permanent Secretary (Special Duties) in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) and Permanent Secretary (National Security and Intelligence Coordination).
