Former unionist Phey Yew Kok faces 28 more charges

FORMER member of Parliament and ex-fugitive Phey Yew Kok now faces 28 additional charges, bringing the total number of charges against him to 34.
The additional charges were read out to him in court on Thursday. Of the 34 charges, they include the four counts of criminal breach of trust and the two counts under the Trade Unions Act that were tendered against him in court on Dec 10, 1979.
Phey had absconded on Jan 7, 1980. He surrendered at the Singapore Embassy in Bangkok on June 22 this year and was brought back to Singapore the next day.
