GE2015: Policy debates, no smearing: PPP chief

[SINGAPORE] The People's Power Party (PPP) chief Goh Meng Seng on Tuesday said he is only interested in policy debates this election, not smearing.
In Mandarin, he told reporters that there has been unfair treatment towards opposition candidates, including an overemphasis on town council accounts and raking up of old issues for criticism.
Mr Goh also re-challenged health minister Gan Kim Yong to debate on healthcare matters, particularly a shortage of hospital beds and overrepresentation of foreign workers in the sector.
PPP nominated finance and administrative manager Low Wai Choo, 55; property consultant Lee Tze Shih, 42, managing consultant Syafarin Sarif, 39 for its Chua Chu Kang GRC team on Tuesday. This is the only constituency it is contesting in.
The People's Action Party (PAP) team fielded health minister Gan Kim Yong and Parliamentary Secretary of Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth and Ministry of Social and Family Development Low Yen Ling, 41; director, Asean Accounts & Business Development at Ernst & Young Zaqy Mohamad, 40; and head of Catalist at CIMB Bank Singapore Yee Chia Hsing, 44.
There was no change to the PAP team from its earlier announcement on August 16.
