[BERLIN] The number of people in employment in Germany rose by 0.9 per cent to an average of 42.6 million during 2014, an eighth successive annual record high, the Federal Statistics Office said on Monday.
Net immigration of foreign workers to Germany and a rise in people's appetite for entering employment helped drive the gain, the office said.
