GERMANY'S government warned companies against doing business in Turkey and issued revised guidelines for travellers as Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel announced a "re-orientation" of policy towards its Nato ally.
The downgrading of ties threatens to send already stormy relations with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's government into a downward spiral after both countries traded barbs and threatened economic retaliation following the detention of a German human rights activist earlier this week.
