Asia-Pacific dividends rise in Q3, led by Taiwan and HK

DIVIDENDS from the largest companies in developed Asia-Pacific ex Japan markets rose year-on-year during the third quarter of 2022, with Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore among those paying more, according to a report by asset management firm Janus Henderson Investors.
The Global Dividend Index report - published on Wednesday (Nov 16) - found that dividends in the region (comprising Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan) grew 14.6 per cent on-year to US$91.7 billion in Q3 2022..
On an underlying basis, which excludes the impact of special dividends, currency, index and calendar effects, dividends in Asia Pacific ex Japan grew 18.7 per cent year-on-year.
