EXPECT some delays in your e-commerce shipment that are coming from China. The surge in Covid-19 infections in China is once again rippling to other parts of the world, threatening supply chains. The world's two largest ports, Ningbo and Shanghai, are experiencing what trade magazine Splash247 calls "unprecedented" volumes.
With cities going into lockdown and transport links to some areas severed, Deutsche Bank's FX strategist Robin Winkler said that China's doubling down on its strategy of zero-tolerance for Covid-19 will come at a "hefty cost".
