[HONG KONG] The global crypto market may have collapsed, but it still has a trillion-dollar market capitalisation that holds much potential for investors.

Making this point was Yat Siu, the founder and executive chairman of Hong Kong-based blockchain gaming develper Animoca Brands, who noted that cryptocurrencies have experienced a rebound of late since hitting rock bottom at the end of 2022.

“If you look at the trading volume, it’s in the billions and billions,” the 50-year-old entrepreneur and angel investor told The Business Times in a recent Zoom interview from his Hong Kong office. “If you’re not in the industry, it feels like this shouldn’t work. But if you’re in the industry, it works incredibly well.”
