    I OFTEN sigh in despair. Countries should just learn to get along with one another. 

    Geopolitics is a mess. The Russia-Ukraine war, started by Russia in February 2022, is dragging on with no end in sight. Israel counter-attacked aggressively in response to coordinated attacks by the Palestinian Islamist militant group Hamas from the Gaza Strip onto bordering areas in Israel. 

    Military conflicts cause much human suffering and help drive higher inflation.
