THE race to become Singapore's next President took on a fresh twist on Friday, as a group of men arrived at the Elections Department to pick up application forms on behalf of someone they described as a "potential candidate".
They did not reveal the identity of this person, and would only say it is a man from the Malay/Muslim community, currently in his 60s, lives in Singapore and works as the chairman of a multinational company. They also disclosed that he has never contested in an election before and is not a member of any political party.
