Growth in emerging EMEA nations stronger than expected: S&P report
London
ECONOMIC growth in emerging Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA) is stronger than previously expected, but the vaccination roll-out is inadequate and inflation is accelerating, according to a new report by S&P Global Ratings. The US credit rating agency, however, is concerned that inflation in emerging Europe continues to rise and is "drifting further away from the central banks' targets".
Similarly for developed economies, the stronger economic rebound has boosted demand, while supply chain disruptions and fuel shortages have caused food prices to rise.
