Hoteliers look to H2 with frisson amid deluge of wedding and event bookings
Longer waiting lists, longer lead time for hotel event spaces
WITH the major easing of Singapore's Covid-19 restrictions on Mar 29 and Apr 26, the events, hospitality, and travel sectors are springing back into action – and hotel operators are facing a surge in demand for venue bookings, with increases ranging from 35 per cent to almost doubling.
Ballroom and function room bookings at One Farrer Hotel have increased by 50 per cent since the lifting of restrictions on Mar 29 and the further opening up of travel, said its director of sales and marketing, Elaine Kum.
“We believe that there will be a bottleneck in the third and last quarter (of the year) with the expected ramping up of event bookings,” she noted.
