TEO Eng Cheong will step down as the CEO of International Enterprise (IE) Singapore on Dec 31, 2015, to join infrastructure consultancy Surbana Jurong Private Limited as CEO of international operations.
Singapore's Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) said in a press release that at IE Singapore, Chua Taik Him, currently deputy CEO, will be appointed acting CEO from Jan 1, 2016, until a new CEO is appointed.
Mr Teo was appointed the CEO of IE Singapore in January 2011.
MTI said that under his leadership, IE Singapore implemented several initiatives like the Global Company Partnership, Market Readiness Assistance and the Young Talent Programme.
"Mr Teo also played a key role in expanding IE Singapore's presence in emerging markets, and in facilitating Singapore companies' participation in Government-to-Government projects," MTI said.
In a press release, Surbana Jurong group CEO Wong Heang Fine said Mr Teo, who will join the firm on Jan 1, 2016, brings a wealth of international experience and networks.
Said Mr Wong: "Our growth will be in the international markets where we target the bulk of our market revenue. We are already actively pitching for masterplanning, urbanisation, infrastructure, affordable housing, residential townships and industrial parks jobs in countries like Mexico, Oman, Mauritius, Panama and other emerging markets. We intend to expand our international footprint and Eng Cheong will help us spearhead this effort."
