INDIA'S lawmakers failed to pass one of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's biggest policy moves yet in a month-long parliament session that ended on Tuesday, risking disappointment among investors who expected quick changes.

Both houses adjourned until late February as opposition lawmakers blocked votes on key bills to debate reports of forced conversions of religious minorities. Neither body voted on the insurance bill, which was first introduced in 2008.
