[JAKARTA] Indonesia's central bank has room to further cut its benchmark interest rates, the country's finance minister said on Wednesday.

"As long as the inflation rate can be maintained at 4 per cent, I think BI can lower the policy rate," finance minister Bambang Brodjonegoro told reporters.

Bank Indonesia (BI) last week cut the benchmark rate by 25 basis points to 6.75 per cent, the third rate cut this year.
