Indonesia inflation rate may ease to about 4 per cent on year in Nov: stats bureau

[JAKARTA] Indonesia's annual inflation rate may ease to around 4 per cent in November, an official of the statistics bureau said on Thursday, as a fuel price hike made a year earlier factors into the base-price comparison. "It (annual inflation) may come at around 4 per cent if we can manage prices," Sasmito Hadi Wibowo, deputy bureau chief, told reporters.

Mr Wibowo also said there remains an upward risk from imported inflation due to a weak rupiah, trading at its 17-year lows.

Earlier on Thursday, the bureau reported that annual inflation in September was 6.83 per cent, compared with 7.18 per cent in August.
