[JAKARTA] Indonesia’s recorded trade surplus of US$2.93 billion in May fell more than expected as trade activity remained weak, Statistics Bureau data showed on Wednesday (Jun 19).

A Bloomberg poll of economists had predicted a surplus of US$3.42 billion for the month. The May surplus is also lower than April’s surplus of US$3.56 billion.

Exports from South-east Asia’s largest economy grew by 2.86 per cent year on year to US$22.3 billion last month.
