Indonesia swings to current account surplus in Q3
[JAKARTA] Indonesia's third-quarter current account racked up a surplus of US$4.5 billion, or about 1.5 per cent of gross domestic product, as merchandise exports got a boost from high commodity prices, central bank data showed on Friday.
That compared with a second-quarter deficit of US$2 billion on the current account, or 0.7 per cent of GDP.
The balance of payments showed a surplus of US$10.7 billion in the quarter from July to September, compared with a deficit of US$0.4 billion in the previous three months, Bank Indonesia said.
