[JAKARTA] Indonesia's central bank expects the annual inflation rate in August to ease to 7.08 per cent from July's 7.26 per cent, its governor told reporters on Friday.

Governor Agus Martowardojo said consumer prices probably rose 0.3 per cent month-on-month.

The central bank will have more room to cut rates later this year as inflation cools, but adjustments will be gradual, economists have said.
