Indonesia's GDP growth likely at 5.0-5.2% in 2015: finance minister

[JAKARTA] Indonesia's economy is expected to grow by 5.0-5.2 per cent this year, the finance minister said on Wednesday, tweaking the government's GDP forecast for the year after the release of second quarter data.

Earlier on Wednesday, the statistics bureau reported Southeast Asia's largest economy expanded 4.67 per cent in April-June from a year ago, better than analysts' expectations but the slowest since 2009. "We hope with better H2 capital spending and more investment, growth will improve," Finance Minister Bambang Brodjonegoro told reporters.

Indonesia's government targets 5.7 per cent growth this year according to the 2015 state budget. But its latest outlook was for growth at 5.2 per cent.
