[JAKARTA] Indonesia's annual inflation rate was steady in March, the statistics bureau said on Friday, as expected in a Reuters poll.

The bureau said March's annual rate was 4.45 per cent, in line with analysts' forecast in the poll, and close to February's 4.42 per cent.

The core inflation rate, which strips out administered and volatile food prices, was 3.50 per cent, compared to 3.60 per cent seen in the poll.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.19 per cent, close to what analysts expected.

Bank Indonesia's target range for inflation this year is 3-5 per cent. Its benchmark interest rate is currently 6.75 per cent, after three cuts this year totalling 75 basis points.

The central bank's next policy meeting is April 20-21.
