Indonesia's trade surplus narrows in August

[JAKARTA] Indonesia posted a US$433 million trade surplus in August, the statistics bureau said on Tuesday, smaller than the US$630 million surplus forecast in a Reuters poll.
The surplus was only one-third of a revised US$1.38 billion one the country had in July.
August exports were US$12.70 billion, falling 12.28 per cent from a year earlier, while imports were US$12.27 billion, down 17.06 per cent.
