ISWA World Congress to stage full physical comeback in Singapore from Sep 21-23

VIENNA-BASED non-profit International Solid Waste Association (ISWA) will be holding the 38th edition of its ISWA World Congress event in Singapore from Sep 21 to 23 this year.
Taking place at Marina Bay Sands’ Expo and Convention Centre, this year’s event will be hosted by the Waste Management and Recycling Association of Singapore, with The Business Times as the official media partner.
ISWA World Congress 2022 will focus on the theme “Don’t waste our future”, with an aim to facilitate ideas and opinions to increase the waste management industry’s productivity and standards. A series of dialogue sessions and focus sessions will be conducted throughout the 3-day programme.
Topics will range from Creating a sustainable living environment to Making sound decisions in waste recovery and Financing waste management.
The ISWA World Congress is a global meeting which includes high-level plenaries, technical site visits and business-to-business programmes. The congress aims to create a platform for waste management professionals, government officials, industry leaders and young professionals to meet and exchange views to advance both scientific and technical knowledge for sustainable solid waste management.
Since the onset of Covid-19, ISWA cancelled its Rotterdam event slated for September 2020 before it subsequently conducted a virtual event from Athens, Greece in October 2021. Its last fully physical event took place at Bilbao, Spain in October 2019.

Subsequent editions of the event are planned to be held in Oman, South Africa and Argentina from 2023 to 2025, respectively.
