JAPAN is hoping to secure agreement before the end of this year from other members of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) to move forward with the scheme despite the United States declining to join the pact.
Until last week, Japan was the only member to have formally ratified what was supposed to be the 12-nation trade and investment pact. But Tokyo was joined last week by New Zealand, one of the founding members of the TPP along with Singapore, Chile and Brunei.
