Japan’s Sept core machinery orders fall 4.6% m-o-m
JAPAN’S core machinery orders fell 4.6% in September from the previous month, government data showed on Wednesday, compared with growth of 0.7% expected by economists in a Reuters poll. Compared with a year earlier, core orders, a highly volatile data series regarded as a leading indicator of capital spending in the coming six to nine months, grew 2.9 per cent, the Cabinet Office data found. The government cut its assessment of machinery orders, saying their pickup movement is stalling. REUTERS
