AT LEAST 10 people were killed and 50 injured when an explosion tore through a train carriage in the St Petersburg metro system on Monday, Russian authorities said.

Russian security agencies later found another explosive device at another metro station and made it safe, the National Anti-Terrorist Committee said in a statement on Monday.
